The World in the Masks
The World in the Masks is a self-inspired work created during the initial time of the COVID-19 pandemic
in April 2020. It includes 199 countries who were affected by COVID-19 by that time. The countries are
represented with a face wearing a mask made from their flags and are organized in an order from
highest to lowest number of COVID positive cases throughout that time. Nearly half of the flags are
designed by me because of not being able to discover a high-resolution image online. Designing
flags for different countries were a great opportunity to learn more about the design and of the flags
of all those nations. The process of this work is close to my heart as it includes lots of pain and
grief of losing the lives of human beings everywhere in the world.
